Hammer Union Fittings
Hammer union fittings, also sometimes simply called hammer unions or wing unions, are pipe and fitting connectors that can quickly, efficiently join together various hoses, piping and tank connections. They're often used in temporary flow lines and similar applications where speed is important, such as oil and gas industries, drilling, water wells and more.
These items come with three primary components: A male connector that has a spherical machined sealing surface; a female connector with a tapered machine sealing surface and external threads; and a wing nut that comes with internal threads.
